Two Emergency Prayer Requests
RAPID CHANGE The new nation of the Republic of South Sudan was born on July 9th 2011, after the Referendum to determine occured on January 9th 2011. Everything is new: government systems, new laws, new officials, new currency and emerging into the modern world is all being thrust on the people of South Sudan in a very short timeframe. Hope For The Future International is asking people all over the world to join with us to pray for Sudan every day as this new nation catches up with the rest of Africa.
SOUTH KORDOFAN The Nuba Mountains lie in the heart of this state along the southern border of northern Sudan. The Nubas sided with the South in the decades long civil war. According to the Peace Agreement they were scheduled to have their own referendum but the Khartoum government reigned on this important vote and is now engaged in a horrendous genocide that may have already killed as many as 200,000 people. Please pray for these people who are the latest victims of the brutal Bashir government, They have vowed to not yield to the terrorism and atrocities they are facing.

Pray for peace, there are conflicts still going on between the north and south, between tribal groups and with opportunist military commanders who are vying for power. Pray that the people can live in security.
Pray for justice and human rights for the people especially the women. Pray for those in governmental and military leadership that they will lead with integrity, with the best interests of the people in mind and with a servant’s heart.
Pray for wisdom to transition well. The people of Southern Sudan who are emerging from being the most primitive place in Africa and smashing into the modern world unprepared for many of the opportunities and temptations they are facing. Pray for God’s grace on to make these changes well.
Pray for the emerging church in southern Sudan that they will live in a way to greatly influence the new nation. Pray that they will have the strength and courage to break totally free from animism.
Pray for revival, for salvations, and spiritual freedom to continue to arise in Southern Sudan. Pray for God’s influence in every avenue of society.
Pray that this new nation will get a good start. That other nations will help them that the leaders will have wisdom and that the government officials will govern for the good of the nation not for personal gain and greed.
Pray for the safety of Sudanese Christians who are preaching the Good News under very difficult circumstances. Sudanese Christians are risking their lives every day to spread the message of Jesus Christ. Pray that God will pour out His life on that nation. Pray for health and safety of evangelists who travel in Sudan.
