Hope For The Future international teams are bringing the message of hope and healing to this troubled country. During the war years, our efforts were focused on encouraging Christian leaders. During that time we felt remembering these persecuted people was a fundamental responsibility. We are still bringing the message of the Father’s love to this wounded nation.
One former government minister thanked Hope for the Future for coming during the war years and said; ‘please continue to come and bring your friends’. Our teams are very international in nature, merging Westerners and Africans together to create cultural sensitivity. The teams focus on leadership development, ministry to children and youth, medical issues, education, HIV/AIDS awareness, and other needs based on the makeup of the teams and our strategic plans.
Diverse teams hold conferences, do evangelism, medical relief, education, children’s ministry, soccer clinics, etc to maximize community impacts. We are working to develop women leaders from various tribes as well as training all our emerging leaders. We partner with relief and development and missions groups in resources and personnel. Hope for the Future also cooperates in interdenominational development and particularly reaches out to undeveloped regions focusing on youth and those from unreached people groups.
A special emphasis we have developed is praying individually with Sudanese in every possible situation. We have seen astounding things transpire through this touch from the God who loves.
Whether you are a pastor looking for a place to develop your churches long term missions ministry, have educational, music or medical or leadership skills, you will find our teams fun and rewarding while meeting the needs of some of the most forgotten people on earth. Children and youth are a special focus. We often combine relief or development along with evangelism and church planting, believing that as Christians we need a holistic approach reaching the whole person.
Most teams have a State side preparation, a base experience in Uganda and a field experience in Sudan with debriefing again in the States. Often teams can extend their time for a short African Safari in either Queen Elizabeth Park or Murchison Falls Park in Uganda.
With many years of experience working in Africa and with teams, people find that the team adventure is well planned, and safe. We equip team members with tools for fundraising, with thorough logistical arrangements, team preparation and prayer. Each member will have clear ministry assignments as well as after care when they return home and opportunity for continued involvement in our Southern Sudan ministry.
Next international team: July 2010
