An era of great promise has begun for the people of Southern who, in January of 2011, have voted to form a separate independent nation from the predominately Arab northern regions of Sudan.  Join with us this year in prayer and activism to aid this new nation to the community of nations. WELCOME AND CONGRATULATIONS TO SOUTHERN SUDAN THE NEWEST NATION ON EARTH!

Hope For The Future arose out of the need to bring comfort and aid to the people of Southern Sudan who had been in continuous civil war for over twenty years. The same things that are now happening in the Darfur region of Sudan occurred non-stop in Southern Sudan from the early 1980's until the peace accord was signed in 2005.

The people of Southern Sudan have suffered greatly, with 2 million deaths and 4 million people displaced from their homes-all attributable to two decades of war. Then there is the slavery, hunger, uncertainty and inability to protect and educate the children. The amount of human pain caused by Africa's longest-running war is unimaginable to most of us. Lets pray that God will give the leaders of this new nation the desire, grace and ability to rectify these wounds in the soul of the nation.

"Thank you for being here and helping through the war years.
Please continue to come and bring your friends."

-- Honorable George Lugala, Minister of Social welfare and Religious Affairs
Central Equatorial State, Sudan
"God has blessed us with your vision and
passion for winning souls."
