If you clicked on the above audio feed you heard the voice of Magnum Swiggart, Magnum is spending eight months in Southern Sudan. His goal is to plant at least five churches in that time. As you can tell from his voice he is very pumped up about what God is doing in Southern Sudan. In less than four years we have seen almost 60,000 people make decisions for Christ in similar outreaches and in school assemblies. We at Hope For The Future are so blessed to be a part of what God is doing there.We have been offering intensive classes for the last five years taking people through Christian basics, but we now have several people who have attended all the intensives that we offer and are asking for more training. So we have just launched Hope For The Future School of Ministry. This is an in-service model of training that we think will better equip the students than the standard Bible School model.

Mark Warkentin, who has spent ten months each year in Southern Sudan and Uganda since 2004, is back home for a much deserved extended break. Mark has been very busy training leaders and planting churches for the past five years. God has used him powerfully. Please pray for Mark while he is at home that God will refresh and strengthen him.

Right now Louise Short is in Southern Sudan working with the Hope For The Future Leaders. As of May 1, 2009 Louise has left her twenty-one year job with the African Children’s Choir to devote herself fulltime to the work of Hope For The Future. Pray for Louise as she makes this bold step of faith.

Karen Grubbs, who has been ministering to children and trained children’s workers in Southern Sudan for several years now, is going to be spending most of her summer in Southern Sudan. In addition to her children’s ministry she will be working on justice issues for the women of Southern Sudan. Pray that God will meet all of Karen’s needs in this undertaking.
